What is GoGoTeachers.com?
It is a site where past and present DoDDS/DoDEA employees may chat, travel, and/or share. This means you may join the Global Teacher's Lounge and chat (free) or you can share your home/apartment/mobile home with other trusted members and thereby travel to many interesting and NOW affordable locations.

Is GoGoTeachers.com sanctioned by DoDDS/DoDEA?
NO. Please read the disclaimer at the bottom on every page of this site.

Is my information protected?
Yes. Only YOU decide when to give out your personal contact information.

Can others see my contact information?
No. If you choose to share your contact information they may but only then.

Is this safe?
Since DoDDS/DoDEA teachers have similar experiences, we can rely on it being safe. You will be able to exchange e-mails, talk on the phone, swap recent photos, and share common friend's names. When you communicate you can ask questions about the home and location and see if this is something that interests you. You will be able to ask each other for referrals about prior exchanges. You will agree on the ground rules when you communicate.

Any guarantees?
If you do not make a visit in your first year as a Varsity member the next 6 months are free.

May my friends use this site?
This site is only for DoDDS/DoDEA personal. You may take your friends with you on your trips but only members may use the site.

Who would want to come to my house?
That is what is great about communicating with the exchange partner, your location may be near friends, family or a place they have never been.

How do you earn Trust Points?
Trust Points are a merit system on GoGoTeachers.com that rewards members who are active on the site and can be used to discipline members who break the rules.

What are these Trust Points you are talking about and what are Trust Levels?
A member's Trust Level is the accumulation of Trust Points over the life time of their membership. Since Trust Points are given out as a reward for active members of GoGoTeachers.com the higher a member's Trust Level the more trust that member has earned from GoGoTeachers.com.

Who is a member? Why do you have to be invited to be a member?
The reason for inviting members is to keep the site pure for only DoDDS/DoDEA people using it. We feel this policy will make the site safer and more friendly. We all know each other or we know someone who knows someone who knows you/me. Founding members are invited by the site managers Vera Morgan and Mag McGinley. Thereafter members may invite new members and earn Trust Points by doing so.

How much does membership cost?
The Global Teacher's Lounge (Junior Varsity Membership) is free to qualified registered members. However you must be a Varsity Member, $60.00 a year, to use the Home Listing part of this site. When you list your home you will earn Trust Points. We need lots and lots of Home Listings to make this work. As a promotion to get this site up and moving we are giving a year's FREE Varsity Membership for the first 200 members that list their homes. Varsity membership includes everything.

Are there any additional fees other than membership?
No. Dues for Varsity Membership are currently $60.00 a year. However the first 200 members that list their homes have a year's FREE Varsity Membership. Sign up now.

What does membership include?
Junior Varsity membership is free and only includes the use of the Global Teacher's Lounge. Varsity Membership is $60.00 a year and includes everything. Varsity members will be able to use the Global Teacher's Lounge and see and use the Home Listings offered. Varsity Members may Chat - Travel - Share.

How do I pay for my membership?
PayPal or a personal check made out to: GoGoTeachers for $60.00 is acceptable.

Are spouses of DoDDS/DoDEA eligible for membership?
Varsity Members may travel with whomever they wish. The agreement must between GoGoTeachers.com members and they must be or have been employed by DoDDS/DoDEA.

What are Scholarships?
Scholarships are given by GoGoTeachers.com members to qualified potential members. The Scholarship is a verification to our site that the interested potential member is currently an employee of DoDDS/DoDEA or is retired or a past employee of DoDDS/DoDEA. This scholarship also tells this site that the interested member is an honest person and they would be willing to have them stay in their home.

Am I responsible for a person when I give them a Scholarship?
Indirectly yes. You gave them a Scholarship which implies you trust them so we should trust them.

How does a Varsity Member get Scholarships to give to potential members?
Scholarships are earned by Trust Points. Trust points are earned by all members on this site.

How many visits am I allowed in one year?
You may have as many visits as you have agreements. There are no limits.

What is a Home Listing?
A home listing is where you offer your home, 2nd home, mobile home, to other Varsity members to use for a vacation. You and an interested member chat on GoGoTeachers.com to decide if you feel the exchange/visit will work. Once you determine that you can work with each other you exchange your personal emails where you work out the details.

Do you have to list your home to use the home listing service?
No you do not. However, we need listings for this site to work. Some members may not be able to offer their homes right now but will be able to in the future. Hopefully most members will list their homes.

What about insurance and liability?
Check with your own insurance company, but most insurance companies cover guests.

What about pets?
Your listing will note if the owner has pets in the house or whether you can bring them to the exchange house.

How many listings may I have?
You may list as many locations/homes as you wish. You may chose to list your mobile home, your house boat or a second home.

May I edit my listing's?
Yes. You can contact GoGoTeachers.com and we will be happy to to update your listing's.

What about cleaning the house?
A member may arrange for cleaning, members can discuss options. We like to think a home will be left the way it is found or better.

What about vehicle use?
If two members are currently holding military overseas driver's licenses you may swap private vehicles if you wish. If one member does not have a military license, you are not permitted to drive the car of a military license holder and will have to find other transportation. If neither member has a military license you are free to make any arrangements you wish.

What about computer use and valuables?
For your own piece of mind you may want to lock up a few valuables. Computer use is decided between you and the interested guest before the agreement is made. Remember you will feel comfortable with this person before the exchange is made. You will probably have even talked on the phone.

Do members have to exchange homes?
No, members may host another member and actually be there when their guest is or they may exchange homes at the same time, say Christmas vacation, or they may allow someone to visit their home during the summer while they are somewhere else and use the other member's home at a different time. The arrangement is up to the two members to decide what they want to do. But.... we do need homes listed for this to work.

How long do these visits last?
The length of time you stay in another member's home is up to the two of you to decide. Most people stay one or two weeks.

How do I list my home?
Exchanges work best if there are photos of the homes. You will need to click on the Listings link and fill in the form. It would also be very nice of members to have a house packet made up and available for their guests. Suggestions of information to include in your house packet is also on the Listing link.

Is hosting possible?
Yes. Not all members want to host. You will have to search and find someone who does and then make arrangements.

How do I search for Home Listings?
We will start listings by the date you wish to start your vacation. As our site enlarges this will probably change.

What is a Contact Agreement?
A Contact Agreement is when two members have agreed to share a home or two homes. They members have shared personal contact information and have made a "teacher's agreement". This agreement should never be broken.

May I cancel a Contact Agreement?
Yes, BUT..... People buy airplane/train tickets etc. way in advance so PLEASE only cancel if it's an emergency. Also an alternate date would be nice.

Is there an evaluation process of Listings?
Yes. The evaluation process is called the Report Card. After your visit is completed GoGoTeachers.com will send you a Report Card. Report Cards are very important for our continual improvement. Please take time to share your thoughts. You earn Trust Points for good grades on your Report Card.

May I dispute a Report Card grade?
Yes, but only once. We will do our best to check out the grade and ask as many questions as we can. You could lose Trust Points for a bad grade on your report card.

What is the Global Teacher's Lounge?
The Global Teacher's Lounge is a chat room for past and present DoDDS/DoDEA employees. There are many topics listed for you to discuss or please add some of your own. This may be a place to find an old friend to discuss the current policies of DoDDS, the current trends in education or even to discuss politics, movies or your latest trip. You will need to register as a Junior Varsity or Varsity member to use the Global Teacher's Lounge but the lounge is FREE. We feel the Teacher's Lounge is a way for us to be connected because we are unique. Come on in and see who's there.
